WILLIAM GOLDBERG, Operating Partner
William Goldberg was recruited to join Planet Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2008 by its lead venture capital investor Aisling Capital to turn around, professionalize and grow this group of recently acquired family-owned companies. In 2002, Mr. Goldberg began working with GTCR Golder Rauner as a Portfolio Principal, and was subsequently recruited to work with several of its healthcare focused portfolio companies that were experiencing financial, operating and other difficulties. In that regard, Mr. Goldberg provided interim management and supervision to TransHealthcare, Inc., and Lifecare Holdings, Inc. before being asked to take on full P&L and day-to-day operating responsibility of Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to Mr. Goldberg's involvement with GTCR, he was a Managing Director at GKH Partners, L.P. where he was responsible for the acquisition, performance improvement and value realization of select companies for the $550 million private equity fund focused buying, repairing and building underperforming businesses. Mr. Goldberg currently serves as Chairman of the Board of DNA Diagnostic Center, Inc. Mr. Goldberg holds a Masters of Business Administration from 1984 The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
